Tuesday, November 5th is Election Day. According to the National Democratic Institute, “Making democracy work requires informed and active citizens who understand how to voice their interests, act collectively and hold public officials accountable.” This is done by actively participating in the democratic process of voting in local, state and national elections. Voting is how “citizens engage actively in the political process and serve as a link between citizens and elected officials.” In order to register to vote, students must meet certain requirements. If you are interested in registering to vote, please see Mr. Matz in room B216 who has registration materials. Students and faculty, if you are registered to vote, please make sure to participate in this most important act of citizenship.
Dress Code: Students are to respectfully remove their hoodies/hats when in the school building. Do not let an unnecessary head covering be the reason you are assigned a detention.
Students: Please check your cinnaminson.com email address regularly. Important information will be forwarded to you from the counseling department, school updates, and/or notifications from Naviance.
Students are only allowed to be dropped off in the first lane of the parking lot directly in front of the school. Please do not have parents drop you off anywhere else in the parking area.
Every day there are adults in this building who do wonderful things for their students. If you feel that a staff member has either helped you, guided you, assisted you or simply “stands out”, here is your opportunity to recognize them. Each month the Golden Apple Award is given to a teacher, secretary, nurse, administrator, counselor, cafeteria worker, maintenance worker, bus driver, or teacher’s aide. Please consider recognizing someone who has made an impact in your life or the life of another by filling out a Golden Apple Nomination Form. They can be found across from the library next to the “gold” nomination box along the wall, see Mrs. Leetz or go onto the CHS website. Thank you!
STUDENTS: There is ZERO TOLERANCE regarding bullying and harassment. Anyone caught bullying or harassing will be suspended and charged by the Cinnaminson Police. No students are permitted to any other Cinnaminson Schools.
Buses: There are late buses available every day at 2:44PM for any student staying for extra-help, use of the library, involved in a club, or after-school detention. Students MUST have a bus pass from their teacher, advisor, librarian, or detention proctor to take the late bus. This is a change in policy and is for the safety and security of our students. If a student is not staying for one of these reasons, he/she must leave campus immediately.
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: If you are absent or late to school written verification to satisfy the requirements of the attendance policy must be submitted to the Attendance Office within two school days, by 8:00 am on the third day, if the parent of the student requests that the absence be considered excused. This applies to physician’s notes as well.
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: The locker rooms are a restricted area unless you are changing for PE class. They are not to be used for lavatory purposes. If anyone is caught doing so, he or she will be disciplined accordingly.ATTENTION ALL YOUNG MEN WHO ARE 18 YEARS OLD, OR ABOUT TO TURN 18: You are legally obligated to register with Selective Service. By registering you add your name to a list of all men in the nation 18-25. The list would be used to identify men for possible military service in case of a national emergency. You must also register with Selective Service to receive Federal Student Aid for college. The law says that all 18-year-old men must register within 30 days of their 18th birthday. You can register with Selective Service in less than 2 minutes via the internet at: www.sss.gov, or you can go to the Post Office and complete a registration form. You can also register online when filling out your FASFA. It’s quick, it’s easy and it’s the law.
