Cinnaminson High School has partnered with Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC) to offer their College Accelerated Program (CAP). CAP is a dual credit program that offers students taking select courses an opportunity to earn both high school and college credit. These courses are taught during the regular school day by members of the Cinnaminson High School staff, who are also certified as RCBC adjunct professors. Students who would like to receive college credits must register for the course(s) at RCBC Dual Enroll Online, pay the RCBC fee for the CAP class, and earn at least a “C” (70% or higher) in the course. The final grades are submitted to RCBC in the summer. Students who plan on attending a college other than RCBC should research credit equivalencies to be sure the credits are transferable to the 4-year institution. Neither RCBC nor Cinnaminson High School can guarantee transfer of courses to any institution other than RCBC. Each college has its own acceptance policy for transfer credits including policies specific to credits earned through dual credit programs. Additionally, some colleges may accept the credits, but specific departments within that college may have different policies for how they apply them to their specific programs. It is the responsibility of each student/family to contact specific colleges about their policies.
Here are a few facts to consider when deciding whether to register for RCBC CAP college credit:
QUESTIONS TO ASK COLLEGES OR UNIVERSITIES
➢ Do you accept transfer credits from community colleges?
➢ Is there a way I can find out how credits earned at a community college will be applied to my major?
➢ Is your college more likely to accept Advanced Placement or Dual Credit?
To register, students must create a student account at RCBC Dual Enroll Online. Once the account is created, use the department and course numbers (found below) to register AND pay by Tuesday, October 29th, 2024 at noon. This deadline CANNOT be extended by Cinnaminson High School nor RCBC. Be sure to choose “Fall 2024 CAP” for the term. Once the registration is approved, you will receive an email to pay online by credit card or e-check. If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact one of the coordinators below or Kelly Otis, RCBC’s Director of Outreach and Admissions at Email to kotis@rcbc.edu
