Welcome Back

Hello CHS Community,

I hope you are all looking forward to our return to school on Tuesday, September 2. I am really excited to have everyone return to the building and see the classrooms come back to life after a summer away.
I wanted to take a moment to send a quick reminder of some important information and upcoming events.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and I look forward to seeing everyone back again on Tuesday!

Football

The football program had a productive summer of workouts leading into the camp that commenced this past Monday. The dedication shown by both players and coaches has been outstanding, promising a strong potential for the 2025 season. We will kick off our season against Overbrook High School on August 28th at Overbrook.

Boys Soccer

After a long summer of training three times a week, the boys’ soccer team officially began preseason on August 18. They opened with scrimmages on August 25, 27, and 29. In their first matchup, the boys defeated Ocean City 4–1. Next, they will face Eastern High School and Lawrence High School before taking on Rancocas Valley High School on September 3.

Most of the team attended our intensive Team Camp from August 4th to 8th, running from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Field Hockey

The field hockey team met twice a week for track and weight room workouts. A group of 24 girls participated in a Wednesday night 7v7 league. The team captains also organized several practices over the summer.

Girls Cross Country

The girls' cross country team has been preparing for the fall season over the past eight weeks through Captain’s Practices, consistently building their mileage, strength, and endurance. They are excited and motivated as they head into the preseason, with their season officially starting on September 6th at the Cherokee Challenge.

Cheerleading

The CHS cheerleading team attended a two-night UCA Cheerleading Camp at Monmouth University. The girls worked tirelessly from sunrise to sunset, mastering new stunts and routines while strengthening their teamwork. Olivia Ruggieri was honored as an All-American Cheerleader, and Karizma Strigel reached the finals of the jump competition. The team was awarded the St. Jude Spirit Stick, recognizing their dedication to the cause. The cheerleaders are eager to apply what they learned at camp to the upcoming football and basketball seasons.

Marching Band

The CHS Marching Pirates recently completed their annual two-week band camp, dedicating nearly 100 hours to prepare for the upcoming competition season. With our promotion to the TOB Open competition class, the technical demands on our student marchers are more rigorous than ever. To support this increased demand, we have brought on more talented and dedicated staff members for the season. Returning staff includes Nick DiSalvio (Band Director), Luke Bakanas (Assistant Band Director), Douglas Ferraro (Designer/Battery Designer), Amanda Beard (Front Ensemble Designer), and Regan Sobel (Color Guard Designer). Additional and volunteer staff include Adam Solomon (Front Ensemble), Amanda Mossman (Battery Percussion), Renae Bogstrom (Color Guard), and Mike DeCesare (Tech Specialist). Our 2025 Competition Show, titled "Troy," dramatizes the legendary war between the Spartans and Trojans. We hope you will join us in cheering on our Varsity Football Team and supporting us throughout the competition season!

Dear Cinnaminson High School Community,

I am thrilled to announce the beginning of the much-anticipated Chick-fil-A Cup Competition between Cinnaminson High School and Delran High School! This year-long rivalry not only fosters school spirit but also emphasizes the values of sportsmanship and camaraderie among our students and supporters.

As we kick off this fun and exciting competition, let me provide you with an overview of the structure and rules that will guide our journey. The Competition will run from the start of the Fall Season until the conclusion of the Spring Sports season, allowing ample opportunity for our teams to showcase their talent and determination.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct:
It is crucial that we uphold a standard of respect and sportsmanship. Points will be deducted for unsportsmanlike conduct, as determined by our Athletic Directors. Let’s make sure that our actions reflect the pride we hold in Cinnaminson High School.

Winning the Cup:
At the end of the year, the school with the highest points will be crowned the victor and will have their name engraved on the coveted Chick-fil-A Cup, proudly displayed in our local Chick-fil-A until the next competition. This recognition is not just about winning; it’s about celebrating our achievements and creating lasting memories.

Support and Conduct Expectation:
Everyone in the Cinnaminson community—athletes, coaches, students, and supporters—has a role to play. We encourage all of you to cheer passionately for our teams while encouraging positive interactions with Delran students and supporters. Remember, our actions define who we are as a school.

Let’s rally around our teams, engage in friendly competition, and make this an unforgettable year! Regular updates will be shared, so stay tuned for the latest standings and achievements. Here’s to a thrilling season ahead—let the competition begin, and may Cinnaminson High School rise to the challenge and bring home the Chick-fil-A Cup!

DECA

The officers of Cinnaminson DECA have been hard at work this summer preparing for an exciting and successful new school year. The team participated in leadership training and team bonding sessions to strengthen our skills, develop new ideas, and plan engaging events for the upcoming year. We also spent time organizing and setting up the Pirates Cove, CHS’s student-run store, to ensure it’s ready to open with fresh inventory and improved operations. Looking ahead to September, we’re excited to begin recruiting new members from the Business Education courses and continue growing our DECA community!

Reminders

Excused Absence/Lateness From School

If your child is absent or late to school, written verification to satisfy the requirements of the attendance policy must be submitted to the Attendance Office within two school days, by 8:00 AM on the third day, if the request of the absence is to be considered excused. This is a particular concern when calculating Winner’s Circle.

Drive Safe

For those driving children to and from school each morning, please ensure that you follow all posted speed limits and drive safely through the surrounding neighborhoods when driving to and from school each day. We all are responsible for ensuring all children arrive at their respective schools safely each morning.

Student Drop Off

Please remember that students are to be dropped off in the lane in front of the school only. Students are not to be dropped off in the parking lot. We want to make sure that students arrive at school as safely and efficiently as possible. Dropping off students in the parking lot increases the interactions between cars and students and delays the main drop-off line as more students need to cross the drop-off lane in the crosswalk.

Armed Forces Access to Student Infomation

ESEA Section 8528 outlines provisions that give military recruiters the same access to secondary school students as recruiters from postsecondary institutions or prospective employers (e.g., college fairs, job fairs) and, when requested, requires LEAs to provide students’ names, addresses, electronic mail addresses, and telephone numbers to military recruiters. Parents who do not wish the district to provide name, address, and email information with military recruiters must notify the school in writing. A sample opt-out letter is available at the following link:

Early Dismissal Procedures

For the safety of your children, we will be requiring that when a student is released from school on an Early Dismissal for any reason, any person (including the parent) picking up your child must present photo identification. As a reminder, we will only release your child to a parent/guardian or emergency contact. Again, this is for the safety of your children.

Parents/Guardians of all Athletes

Parents who are picking up your child/children after practice/games, please do not park and wait in the lane of traffic in front of the gymnasium. Please park in the parking lot and wait for your child. Parking in the lane of traffic causes safety issues on many levels. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.
